Residents Urged to Comply as Crews Work Around the Clock to Clear Roads |
A snow route parking ban is currently in effect in Sherwood Park, having commenced on Thursday, December 18, at 6 p.m., and will remain until further notice.
This ban applies to all Priority 3 collector roads, which are marked with permanent snow route signs. It does not include Priority 4 residential streets. Residents are required to remove their vehicles from these roads to facilitate efficient snow removal operations.
Snow removal crews are operating 24/7 to clear the accumulation, which may result in nighttime noise. Parking is permitted once the snow has been fully removed and hauled away. Vehicles left on affected roads during the ban are subject to a $250 fine and towing at the owner's expense.
Residents can stay informed about the parking ban and snow removal progress through various channels:
- Strathcona County website
- SC Alert system
- Winter Roads eNews
- Social media platforms: Facebook and Twitter
- Digital roadway signs
For a comprehensive list of snow routes and the snow clearing schedule, residents are encouraged to visit the Strathcona County website or contact the county directly.
