World's Longest Hockey Game Returns to Alberta in 2026 |
Forty Players Aim to Break Guinness World Record and Raise Funds for Cancer Research |
On Thursday, February 5, 2026, the puck will drop at 52269 Range Road 220 in Sherwood Park, Alberta, marking the start of the World's Longest Hockey Game.
Forty dedicated players will take to the ice, supported by hundreds of volunteers and countless fans, all united by a common goal: a future free of cancer.
This monumental event challenges participants to endure over 11 consecutive days of hockey, aiming to break the current Guinness World Record.
Previous editions of the game have been held in Chestermere, Alberta, where players have set and broken records while raising significant funds for cancer research.
In April 2024, the Hockey Marathon for the Kids in Chestermere concluded after 262 hours of continuous play, raising over $1.4 million for the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation.
Similarly, the World's Longest Hockey Game Juniors in January 2024 saw young players aged 10 to 16 play for 72 hours straight, raising nearly $400,000 to support childhood cancer clinical trials at the University of Alberta.
These events have not only showcased the resilience and dedication of the players but also the unwavering support of the community.
As the 2026 game approaches, organizers are calling on the public to show their support.
Whether by attending the event, cheering on the players, or making a donation, every contribution brings us closer to a world without cancer.
