Art enthusiasts in Sherwood Park have a unique opportunity to delve into the nuances of winter landscapes at the upcoming Strathcona Painting Workshop led by renowned artist Oksana Zhelisko.

Scheduled for January 24 and 25, 2026, this two-day session is tailored for both intermediate painters and eager beginners.

Participants will explore the beauty of winter scenes using either oils or acrylics, emphasizing composition, tonal clarity, and a limited color palette.

Day One focuses on foundational elements, including a monochromatic value study and color mixing techniques.

Day Two transitions into creating a complete winter landscape painting, highlighting unique brushwork methods to enhance personal expression.

The workshop will be held at the historic A.J. Ottewell Community Centre, affectionately known as the Red Barn, located at 590 Broadmoor Blvd, Sherwood Park.

Registration opens on December 1, 2025, with fees set at $140 for members and $180 for non-members.

Interested individuals can register online through the Art Society of Strathcona County's website or contact them directly at 780-449-4443.

Given the limited spots available, early registration is recommended to secure a place in this enriching artistic experience.
