A coordinated law enforcement operation across Alberta has resulted in 49 fugitives being arrested in communities across the province.
The three-day warrant roundup took place March 2 to March 4 and was led by the Alberta Sheriffs’ Fugitive Apprehension Sheriffs Support Team (FASST). Officers from the RCMP and the Edmonton Police Service also participated in the coordinated enforcement effort.
During the operation, authorities executed 118 outstanding arrest warrants across 34 communities, targeting individuals wanted for a variety of offences.
Alberta’s Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Services, Mike Ellis, said the operation sends a clear message to offenders attempting to avoid the justice system.
Among those arrested were several individuals wanted on serious charges. Authorities also arrested 63-year-old Darrel Morin, described by RCMP as a prolific offender connected to repeated thefts targeting oil well lease sites.
The large-scale enforcement initiative highlights the ongoing work of the Alberta Sheriffs’ fugitive unit. In 2025 alone, the FASST team arrested more than 650 high-priority fugitives across the province.
Officials say coordinated operations like this one allow police agencies to share intelligence, deploy resources efficiently, and ensure that individuals with outstanding warrants are brought before the courts. |
