Event Aims to Unite Alberta's Agricultural Community for Innovation and Collaboration |
Sherwood Park is set to become the epicenter of Alberta's agricultural sector with the upcoming 2025 Agrifood Connector conference.
Scheduled for November 3 at Festival Place, this one-day event is a collaborative effort between Strathcona County and Connect for Food (CFF).
The conference aims to bring together a diverse group of stakeholders, including growers, processors, retailers, and more, to foster innovation and collaboration within one of the province's largest industries.
A highlight of the event is the keynote presentation titled "Small Potatoes, Big Realities" by Sanford Gleddie, Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Business Development at The Little Potato Company.
Attendees can also look forward to multiple CFF-led activities, such as a panel featuring diverse perspectives and a dynamic CFF exchange with fast-paced roundtable discussions.
According to Lori Morgan, Economic Development Officer with Strathcona County, "This event is a key step in advancing Strathcona County's Agriculture and Food Sector Development Strategy."
She emphasizes that it's about fostering innovation, economic growth, and long-term sustainability in the local food economy.
Participants will have the opportunity to sample a selection of locally sourced foods and network with other individuals and businesses involved in Alberta's agricultural community.
Registration is priced at $20 and closes on October 27.
Early registration is encouraged due to limited space.

In addition to the Agrifood Connector, Sherwood Park is also hosting the 2025 Small Business Week Conference on October 20 at Festival Place.

It features an AI in business expert, a local economic outlook, and a panel of local success stories.
The conference concludes with "Sip & Sample Strathcona," a unique networking experience showcasing local food and drink.
Tickets are available for $15.
