Local Developer Launches Immersive VR Game |
Sherwood Park's vrCAVE releases Cyberscape to 270+ venues worldwide, emphasizing teamwork and accessible virtual reality |
Local developer vrCAVE has unveiled its latest virtual reality experience, Cyberscape, bringing an innovative adventure to players worldwide.
Recently released to approximately 270 licensed entertainment venues globally, Cyberscape offers an immersive journey that begins in a familiar office setting before transporting players into a dynamic digital realm filled with puzzles and interactive challenges.
CEO Alex Rossol emphasized the game's design, stating, "We assume this might be someone’s first VR experience. So we start simple, and then build on that as they get more comfortable."
This approach ensures that newcomers to virtual reality can ease into the experience, with mechanics introduced gradually to prevent overwhelming players.
Teamwork is at the heart of Cyberscape, requiring players to collaborate and communicate effectively to solve various challenges.
Rossol highlighted this aspect, noting, "We want people to feel like they are solving things together. It is not about one person leading while others follow. Everyone should have a role."
Maintaining immersion was another priority during development. The team ensured that every puzzle and interactive element is contextually relevant, enhancing the game's realism and engagement.
Reflecting on his early gaming experiences, Rossol mentioned that elements like subtle visual cues and user-friendly interactions in Cyberscape are inspired by classic titles but adapted for modern VR technology.
Unlike vrCAVE's previous horror-based experiences, Cyberscape adopts a broader approach, blending light action, problem-solving, and exploration to appeal to a wide range of players.
Looking ahead, vrCAVE is developing another escape room-style experience and plans to release a new multiplayer game designed for at-home VR systems later this year.
Rossol concluded, "VR can feel like a solo experience. We want to bring people together and give them something they can share." |
