Survivorfest is set to return to Sherwood Park from June 12 to 14, 2026, marking its seventh year as a premier endurance event in Strathcona County.
This year's festival will host the 2026 ACU Canadian 24 Hour National Championship, attracting elite ultrarunners from across the nation and beyond.
Participants can choose from 6-hour, 12-hour, and 24-hour timed races, with relay options available, all taking place on a single track at the Strathcona Athletic Park.
Organizers emphasize that the event caters to athletes of all experience levels, from newcomers attempting their first ultramarathon to seasoned runners aiming for records.
Since its inception in 2019, Survivorfest has seen 15 international records set on its track, underscoring its reputation as a competitive and welcoming environment.
The weekend also features a growing youth component, with the Kids Race returning on June 13, offering shorter distances for runners aged four to 17.
Beyond the races, Survivorfest continues to support the Saffron Centre, a local organization providing services for individuals affected by sexual violence.
To date, the event has raised over $37,000 for the centre, highlighting its commitment to community support.
Live coverage will be available throughout the weekend on Survivorfest's YouTube channel and Facebook page, featuring race updates, athlete interviews, and discussions on the Saffron Centre's programs.
