Puppy adoption and Dog Friendly Homes in Sherwood Park

Meet Hanna Banana, a spirited and playful puppy who was discovered alone with her brother in Sherwood Park.

While the duration of their solitude remains unknown, Banana was notably underweight upon rescue.

She has since been gaining weight steadily and is now in good health.

Believed to be a mix of collie, shepherd, and husky, Banana is exceptionally intelligent and vocal when excited.

She has a sweet disposition and adores cuddling with people, her brother, and even her toys, making her a true lap dog.

Banana is highly food-motivated and is learning that food will always be available.

She is working on counter surfing and impulse control, enjoying her puzzle bowls.

Her intelligence and eagerness make her responsive to basic manners and training.

She already knows how to sit and is getting accustomed to wearing a harness for leash walks.

House-trained, Banana uses pee pads when the door is too far.

She is cautious and building her confidence.

When comfortable, she leads in play and mischief.

She needs a patient family to help build her confidence.

Banana's ideal home would have a backyard for safe outdoor enjoyment.

A home with another dog would provide companionship and learning opportunities.

Engaging in puppy training and confidence-building exercises is essential, with a focus on force-free methods.

A household with older children who can be gentle would be suitable, as she can be skittish.

Banana underwent spay surgery on February 17, is microchipped, and has received two rounds of DTAPP vaccines, with the third scheduled for March 16.

Her rabies vaccine will be administered at six months old.

She is ready to meet you and find her forever home!

For those interested in puppy adoption in Sherwood Park, organizations like the Northern Alberta Society for Animal Protection (NASAP) are dedicated to rescuing and rehoming animals in need.

They provide comprehensive care, including medical attention and foster placements, to ensure each pet is ready for adoption.

Additionally, Heart Prints Dog Rescue Society serves areas including Sherwood Park, focusing on rescuing and rehabilitating small breed dogs under 15 pounds.

They operate as a foster home placement rescue, ensuring that each dog receives personalized care before finding their permanent home.

When considering adopting a puppy, it's important to ensure your home is dog-friendly.

In Sherwood Park, neighbourhoods like Heritage Hills and Foxboro are known for their spacious homes and family-friendly environments, making them ideal for pet owners.

These areas offer ample space for dogs to play and thrive, contributing to a happy and healthy life for your new furry friend.

By adopting a puppy like Hanna Banana and providing a loving, dog-friendly home, you can make a significant difference in the life of a rescue animal while enriching your own.
