Heartland Housing Foundation is advancing affordable housing in Alberta, spotlighting major developments in Sherwood Park and Fort Saskatchewan.
In Sherwood Park, the transformation of the former Clover Bar Lodge into a six-storey, 104-unit near-market housing complex is taking shape at 100 Fir Street.
This project addresses rising demand in the area and benefits from an $8.84 million provincial grant, with additional funding expected from various sources.
Demolition is scheduled for spring 2026, with construction set to begin by June of that year.
Over in Fort Saskatchewan, the recently completed Muriel Ross Abdurahman Court offers 83 affordable homes within an energy-efficient, net-zero building.
Tenants moved in during summer 2023, and the project has drawn praise for its sustainable design and positive community impact.
These efforts highlight HHF's dedication to innovative, accessible housing for Albertans. Read More... |
Hi, my name is Zeke. I am a big goofy guy who loves to play. I could play with my favorite toys for hours! I also really love running and wrestling with my foster sister. She says Iβm a lot of fun to play with, but that Iβd do better with a dog my own age because I tire her out. Im really good at listening to her, though, when she tells me she is all done playing. I really love everything and everyone. Foster mom says that my heart is sooo big, itβs even bigger than my brain! I think thats a compliment, right? I want to share my love with everyone I see, and am still learning that not everyone wants a big ball of love hurdling towards them. I would probably do best in a home without smaller animals, because it kind of frustrates me that they donβt want to play with me. I want to play with them sooo bad. |
