Building Bridges Event in Sherwood Park to Support Family Violence Survivors
SIGN UP FOR OUR NEWSLETTER
On February 25, Sherwood Park will host an event titled Building Bridges, aimed at strengthening trust between individuals affected by family violence and the support services available to them. This initiative is a collaborative effort involving the Strathcona County RCMP, A Safe Place, and the Saffron Centre.
Representatives from each organization will present their roles and approaches in assisting survivors. A facilitated discussion will follow, focusing on current collaborative efforts, challenges in providing trauma-informed care, and future partnerships between specialized agencies.
Healing begins when survivors know they are believed, supported, and protected. Understanding the strength of relationships between specialized service providers helps to lower barriers to access and build trust, ensuring that no one has to navigate their journey alone.
This event is about transparency, collaboration, and shared learning. Together, we can build a more informed community and continue learning how to better support survivors. Collaboration between supports ensures those that have experienced violence are less isolated, which always increases safety. When we work together, families know they are cared for by the community and worthy of building safe futures for themselves.
The event is recommended for community members aged 16 and older.
Light refreshments will be provided, and Saffron Centre staff will be on-site to offer emotional support throughout the evening. In-person attendance is encouraged, but an online option is available for those unable to attend physically.
To register, please visit the event listing on Eventbrite.
