Artists looking to develop their watercolour skills can join a two-day winter landscape workshop in Sherwood Park on November 7 and 8, 2026.

Led by artist Francis Marte, the sessions will explore painting snowy mountain scenes, rustic cabins, winding paths and dramatic winter skies.

Participants will practise techniques for creating luminous snow, atmospheric depth and texture using transparent watercolour.

The workshop welcomes intermediate beginners through advanced painters aged 18 and older.

Classes run from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days at the A.J. Ottewell Community Centre, 590 Broadmoor Boulevard.

Registration costs $140 for members of the Art Society of Strathcona County and $180 for non-members.

Participants should bring their own lunch and consult the organizer's supply list before attending.

Registration is available through the Art Society of Strathcona County.
