Highlighting family day events Sherwood Park and Sherwood Park recreation facilities |
This Family Day, Monday, February 16, 2026, residents of Sherwood Park have a unique opportunity to enjoy a day of fun while supporting the Everybody gets to play™ program. By participating in activities at local Sherwood Park recreation facilities, families can contribute to a cause that ensures all community members have access to recreation and cultural services.
On Family Day, 100% of admission fees collected at these facilities will be directed towards the Everybody gets to play™ initiative. This program provides eligible residents with no-cost drop-in recreation opportunities and reduced-fee registered programs through the Recreation Access Program (RAP). The goal is to make recreation and cultural activities more affordable and accessible for all County residents.
In addition to facility activities, local businesses are stepping up to support the cause. From February 9 to 16, 2026, Pasta Pantry will donate $1 from each signature dish sold, and Sherwood Park Panago Pizza locations on Baseline Road and Wye Road will contribute $1 from every large pizza sold to the program. This collaborative effort underscores the community's commitment to inclusivity and support for all its members.
For those interested in contributing further, a corporate funding drive is underway throughout February. Local businesses can make donations of $100, $250, $500, or more, with all contributions eligible for a tax receipt. These funds will directly support the Everybody gets to play™ program, ensuring that more families can benefit from the services offered.
Strathcona County extends its gratitude to Air Products, the founding sponsor of the Everybody gets to play™ program, and to all community members and businesses who continue to support this vital initiative. Your participation and contributions make a significant difference in fostering an inclusive and active community.
