FitMinds and Brain Health Activities in Sherwood Park

Covering dementia support Sherwood Park in our community program.

Residents of Sherwood Park have a unique opportunity to enhance their cognitive health through the upcoming FitMinds™ program. This initiative, a collaboration between We Seniors and Chartwell Emerald Hills, offers an intellectually stimulating environment aimed at building cognitive resilience and reducing the risk of dementia.

Tailored for adults aged 55 and over, the eight-week program is designed to support brain health in engaging and practical ways. While attendance at every session isn't mandatory, regular participation is encouraged to maximize benefits.

Each 90-minute session comprises:

30 minutes of engaging, lecture-style learning.

60 minutes of interactive activities, including puzzles, memory recall, storytelling, problem-solving, and computation.

The FitMinds™ program is structured around five key pillars essential for a healthy lifestyle:

Nutrition.

Socialization.

Mental Stimulation.

Spirituality.

Physical Activity.

Sessions are scheduled for Thursdays, from March 26 to May 14, 2026, between 1:00 pm and 2:30 pm. Most sessions will be held at Sherwood Park United Church, located at 20 Fir St, Sherwood Park. Please note, the final session on Thursday, May 14, will take place from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm at Chartwell Emerald Hills.

Participants can look forward to door prizes and are encouraged to bring a friend. To assist with planning, pre-registration is requested. For more information or to register, contact We Seniors at (780) 400-2111 or email questions@weseniors.ca.
