Construction Continues On Sherwood Park's Largest Senior Care Expansion |
Historic $87.9 million project will transform elder care with 223 new beds and state-of-the-art amenities |
A transformative moment for Sherwood Park as construction continues on what officials call the community's most ambitious senior care expansion in decades.
The $87.9 million Sherwood Care redevelopment project received full provincial backing and construction began last October.
This isn't just another construction project — it represents a complete reimagining of how seniors receive care in Strathcona County.
The six-story facility will add 223 new care beds, including 210 continuing care units and 13 specialized hospice and palliative care beds.
Kathy Fortunat, CEO of Sherwood Care, emphasized how the facility has served Sherwood Park for 55 years as a not-for-profit provider.
