Sherwood Park Residents Report High Pride in Community, Survey Shows

93% of residents rate Strathcona County as a good or very good place to live

Sherwood Park and the rest of Strathcona County remain a well-liked place to call home, according to the 2025 Public Satisfaction Survey results released May 20. The survey found that 93 per cent of residents rate the county as a good or very good place to live.

The feedback, gathered from more than 1,500 people, shows 94 per cent think it is a great place to raise children, and 92 per cent feel safe. Satisfaction with local services sits at 83 per cent, while 84 per cent are happy with infrastructure such as roads and pathways.

Mayor Rod Frank says the numbers reflect a strong community. 'These results speak to the strength of our community and the pride citizens have in calling Strathcona County home,' he said, adding that resident feedback helps council invest wisely and keep services meeting expectations.

Participation hit a five-year high, with 649 residents taking part by phone and another 949 online. The findings were presented to council on May 19 and then shared publicly.

The results give council a clear picture of how well parks, programs, and public spaces are meeting local needs, providing direction for future planning.
