Be Part of History: Volunteer for the 2026 Alberta Summer Games

Strathcona County hosts over 2,500 athletes this July 16-19, and needs 1,500 volunteers to make it unforgettable

The 2026 Alberta Summer Games are set to take place from July 16 to 19, bringing together over 2,500 young athletes from across the province to compete in 13 sports, including athletics, baseball, basketball, and swimming.

Strathcona County is proud to host this significant event, showcasing its world-class facilities and vibrant community spirit.

To ensure the success of the Games, nearly 1,500 volunteers are needed to assist in various roles, such as event setup, scorekeeping, admissions monitoring, and first aid support.

Volunteers will receive exclusive perks, including a branded shirt, snacks and beverages during shifts, and free spectator access to sporting events (excluding the opening ceremonies).

Most shifts are two to four hours long, offering flexibility for participants.

Individuals aged 16 and older can volunteer independently, while those aged 13 to 15 may volunteer when accompanied by an adult.

In preparation for the Games, volunteers will participate in a one-hour training session, available online or in-person during the first two weeks of July.

To sign up and be part of this exciting event, visit the official Games website.

Don't miss this opportunity to contribute to a memorable celebration of sport and community in Strathcona County.
