Explore senior events Sherwood Park and healthy aging Sherwood Park programs

WESeniors Strathcona is set to host the Active Aging Series on Monday, March 16, at their Sherwood Park center.

This event aims to connect older adults with community resources that promote healthy and active lifestyles.

Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with local organizations and professionals dedicated to supporting seniors' physical and mental well-being.

The session will be held at #140, 501 Festival Avenue, within the Strathcona Community Centre.

A nominal $2 drop-in fee includes coffee and refreshments.

Participants can look forward to presentations from guest speakers and community experts who will share information on programs and services available to older adults in the area.

The event encourages seniors to stay active, explore new experiences, and maintain social connections within the community.

In addition to the presentations, attendees can meet with local organizations to learn about various activities such as fitness programs, educational workshops, volunteer opportunities, and social events offered through local seniors' centers and community groups.

Organizers emphasize that the series aims to simplify the process for seniors to discover available programs and supports, while also providing a welcoming environment to meet others and build connections.

Advance registration is encouraged by contacting the WESeniors Strathcona office, though drop-ins may be accepted if space allows.

The Active Aging Series is part of a broader effort to promote healthy aging and help seniors remain active members of the community through education, recreation, and social engagement.

For more information or to register, residents can contact WESeniors Strathcona at 780-400-2111.
